ARLINGTON, Texas -  Due to a non-COVID illness, the UT Arlington softball team's midweek clash at North Texas Wednesday, Mar. 2 has been postponed.

More details regarding another date time will be announced at a later time. 

The Mavericks (6-7) are set to host Fordham, Northwestern State and UTSA as part of the three-day 3rd Boerner Invitational (Mar. 4-6) at Allan Saxe Field. UTA will open up tournament play Friday, Mar. 4 at 3:30 p.m. as the Mavs will face Fordham. 

BEHIND THE BOERNER INVITATIONAL 
In memory of a life taken too early, the softball team has named this weekend's tournament in honor of Melissa Boerner, a former standout and UTA softball captain who was killed by a drunk driver the day before her senior year began in August of 1998. The Boerner Invitational is not only a remembrance of Melissa, but it has also been created to help bring awareness to the importance of responsible drinking.
