Women's Golf Set For HBU Husky Invitational - University of Texas Arlington Athletics

SUGAR LAND, Texas – The UT Arlington women's golf team resumes its spring season on Monday when the Mavericks begin Houston Baptist's Husky Invitational from Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas.

Last time out, the Mavs competed in South Alabama's Tchefuncta Invitational back in mid-February where the squad posted an 8th place finish. There, Madigan Murray led the 52- player field with a top 10 (T9) finish – her best finish so far this year.

Murray

Murray leads UTA with an average score of 75.05 so far this year as the graduate student has competed in every single tournament for the Mavericks. Murray has four par or better rounds under her belt this season out of 21 rounds played.

Hlyndsottir

Hlynsdottir trails behind Murray with a 75.48 average – 2nd-best on the squad. The transfer's best performance this season has come from the Little Rock Golf Classic back in October of 2021 where she tied for 6th-place out of 64 players.

Garber

Garber has competed in six of seven tournaments this season for the Mavericks and looks to improve at this week's HBU Husky Invitational after she tied for 49th-place at the Tchefuncta Invitational. The graduate student sits on an average score of 77.83.

Tan

Tan has played in just three tournaments for the Mavs including the USA Intercollegiate (Sept. 2021), Little Rock Golf Classic (Oct. 2021) and Texas State Invitational (Feb. 2022). The senior's best round so far this year has been at the USA Intercollegiate as Tan posted a final-round 78.

Howard

Howard is heading into her sixth appearance in UTA's lineup as the senior is coming off her best finish so far this year (T40) at South Alabama's Tchefuncta Invitational. Across 15 rounds played this season, Howard's best round has come from the Little Rock Classic where she tabbed a 2nd-round 75.
