SUGAR LAND, Texas - The UT Arlington women's golf team concluded its first two rounds at Houston Baptist's Husky Invitational from Riverbend Country Club on Monday with a 36-hole 643 total.
 
The Mavericks posted rounds of 317 and 326 and currently reside in 11th place. Graduate student Madigan Murray leads the Maverick squad as she is currently tied for 20th place across the 75-player field after posting rounds of 76 and 80.

Murray

• Murray shot 76 in her first round as her card consisted of five bogeys, a double and three birdies – which came on holes 15, 2 and 8. The graduate student recorded nine pars across her first round as she was one of two Mavs who didn't put anything higher than a double on her card.
• Murray tabbed a second-round 80 as she was unable to record a single birdie throughout her round. Despite recording doubles on 14 and 1, Murray ended the round with 12 pars – most of the Mavs.

Hlyndsottir

• Hlynsdottir began her day on hole 12 and played the first 14 holes in 4-over with a double coming on 3. Uncharacteristically, the junior rolled an unfortunate triple and double that were too much to overcome. However, Hlynsdottir would be able to record one birdie on the 9th.
• The junior improved her numbers by four shots as she tabbed a second-round 79. She played her first nine in +3 before rolling two bogeys on 6 and 8 which set her back. However, she was able to roll her lone birdie of the round – which came of the 5th. 

Garber

• Garber played the back nine – her front side – the best of the Mavs as she shot just +1 over before making the turn.  The graduate student couldn't keep that same momentum as a double on 3 and bogeys on 4, 6 and 8 slowed her down. Garber went on to play the final three holes in +4 to cap the round of 77.
• Garber's second round consisted of eight bogeys along with a double on 17 and a triple of 5. Unfortunately, those numbers were too much to bounce back from as she completed her round of 85.  

 
Tan

• Tan recorded a first-round 85 as the senior struggled to gain any momentum throughout her round. However, Tan would be able to record seven pars and one birdie – which came on hole 2.
• Not too much changed for Tan in her second round of the tournament as she completed her round of 91. Tan's card featured a trio of unlucky triples that were too much to bounce back from.

Howard

• Howard began her day on the 14th hole in which she recorded 10 pars, one birdie, five bogeys, a double and triple. Her lone birdie came on hole 3 as she capped the round of 81.
• The senior played the first six holes in 5-over before getting her card back to 4-over courtesy of two birdies on 4 and 6. However, a double and a pair of bogeys over her final seven holes set her back.

UTA will continue Husky Invitational action with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for the final round on Tuesday.
