GULF SHORES, Ala. - UT Arlington's
Madigan Murray paced the Mavericks Sunday afternoon at South Alabama's Bama Beach Bash with a 1st-round 71 as the graduate student is currently tied for 3rd-place.
The Mavs tabbed a 317 team-total as the squad resides in 12th-place out of 16 teams. Murray's opening-round 71 makes her fourth under-par round this season.

Murray
- Murray had a flawless first round as she shot a 71 (-1). The graduate student's card featured just two bogeys, a double, 10 pars and five birdies – most of the Mavs.
Hlyndsottir
- Hlynsdottir played the front side in +5 which consisted of bogeys – which came on 1 and 6 – and a triple on 2. The junior capped the round of 79 after a closing double on 19. However, Hlynsdottir led the Mavericks with 14 pars.
Garber
- Garber was +9 through the opening nine with five bogeys and two doubles. The graduate student was able to improve as she rolled two birdies on 14 and 15 to play the back nine in +2 to cap the round of 83
Howard
- Howard tabbed an 84 in her first round which consisted of a triple, double, 10 bogeys, three pars and three birdies – second-most of the Mavs.
Gonzalez
- Gonzalez struggled in her opening round as she produced a 44 (+8) on the front side and a 47 (+11) on the back side. The senior recorded five unfortunate doubles on 5, 7, 11, 17 and 19 to complete the round of 91.
