ARLINGTON. - Winners of seven straight, the 68th ranked UT Arlington women's tennis team will welcome Georgia Southern (Saturday, April 2) and Georgia State (Sunday, April 3) to the UTA Tennis Center for it's final two home Sun Belt Conference matches. Both matches are set to begin at 10 am.
Sunday's match against Georgia State will serve as the Maverick's Senior Day, with the ceremony taking place prior to the match as Head Coach

The Mavericks have won 14 straight Sun Belt Conference matches, dating back to 2019. A large part of that is their success in winning the doubles point. In dual action this year, the Mavs are winning 73 percent of their doubles matches. Momoka origuchi andÂ

The team is even better in singles dual play, winning 82 percent of their matches. Against Sun Belt competition, that improves to 88 percent - losing just two singles dual matches all year. Â

Ana Paula Jimenez has gone 13-1 in dual matches. Â
Liz Chileno is fourth on the team with 10 wins and only two losses.
SCOUTING GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Georgia Southern enters the weekend with a 9-7 record overall and 2-3 record in the Sun Belt Conference. The Eagles have won three straight matches. Silvia Martinez leads Georgia Southern with a 10-4 record on the season in singles play, which includes a team-best 3-1 record in Sun Belt matches.
SCOUTING GEORGIA STATE
Georgia State enters 12-5 on the year and is currently in second place in the Sun Belt with a 5-1 record. Their lone loss came at South Alabama, 1-4, on March 20. Angel Carney leads the Panthers with 14 wins on the season, including a 10-1 record on line five. Georgia State is winning over 65 percent in both singles and doubles dual matches.
