Heidrun Hlynsdottir led the Mavericks in day one of the Sun Belt Conference Championship from LPGA International with a 1st-round 71 (-1) as the Mavs are currently tied for 2nd-place overall.
UTA resides in 2nd-place along with Arkansas State as the Lady Red Wolves also tabbed a 1st-round 297 team total. The Maverick' 297 team total is currently tied for the 12th-best low round in UTA program history.

Hlynsdottir
- Hlynsdottir tabbed a 1st-round 71 (-1) as the junior shot an impressive -3 through 12 holes with birdies coming on 11, 14, 17 and 3. The only hiccups of the round were a trio of bogeys on 15, 4 and 8.
Murray
- Murray opened with a bogey on 10 as she played the first 10 holes 2-over before a bogey on 2 and 4 put her back 4-over. The graduate student would be able to hole out in her final hole (9) to get her card back to just 2-over to tab the round of 74 - her third-career eagle. Murray is now the record-holder of the most eagles in UT Arlington women's golf history as she was previously tied with 2 with former player, Kate Tran.
Garber
- Garber started her day on the 10th and produced a 39 (+3) on the back nine – her front nine – with bogeys on 11, 13, 14 and 16. - Tan was one of three Mavs who did not put anything above a bogey on her card as the senior's card featured seven bogeys, 10 pars and one- which came on hole 12 to tab a 1st-round 78 (+6).
