ARLINGTON – The UT Arlington women's tennis team (17-2) will look to bounce back from just their second loss of the season as they host North Texas at the UTA Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon for the final home match of the season at 2 p.m.
The Mavericks have been dominant in singles competition this season, winning 80.6 percent of their dual matches.
Sarina Reinertsen (15-0) and
Tara Gorinsek (14-0) continue to keep their undefeated spring seasons alive.
Ana Paula Jimenez is tied for the Maverick win leader with 15 wins. She has 22 going back to tournament action.
In dual doubles competition, the Mavericks are winning at a .714 clip. Paula Jimenez and
Liz Chileno are 9-1 on court two, while the Mavericks as a whole are 13-1 on the season on court two.
Momoka Horiguchi and
Tara Gorinsek have claimed stake on court one, owning a 9-3 record.
SCOUTING NORTH TEXAS
The Mean Green are 9-9 on the season and are coming off a 4-3 loss to Houston on Sunday. Liisa Vehvilainen has been a cog for the Mean Green with an 11-4 record in dual singles action. In doubles play, Lucie Devier and Jasmine Adams own a 7-4 record on court one, while Vehvilainen and Saki Oyama are 8-4 on court two. The Mavericks own a 12-11 record against UNT dating back to 1990 and won last year's matchup 4-3 in Denton.
