Women's Tennis Return to SBC Play In Louisiana

LOUISIANA – Currently sitting in second place in the Sun Belt Conference, the UT Arlington women's tennis team (18-2, 6-1 SBC) will travel to Louisiana to take on ULM (Saturday, April 9) and Louisiana (Sunday, April 10) looking to keep pace at the top of the league.  Both matches are set to begin at 10 am.
 
Two Mavericks continue their undefeated dual seasons as Sarina Reinertsen sits at 16-0, while Tara Gorinsek is 15-0. Both players have also eclipsed 20 wins on the season.  Ana Paula Jimenez has lost just one match on the season and leads the Mavericks with 23 total wins on the year, including fall tournament action. Liz Chileno has been a constant on court two, earning a 7-2 record.
 
In doubles action, Paula Jimenez also leads the Mavericks in wins with a 19-2 record, including a 13-1 mark on court two with 9 of those wins coming with partner Liz Chileno. Four other Mavericks sit with double-digit doubles wins – Chileno (14), Momoka Horiguchi (14), Tara Gorinsek (13) and Carla Pons (12).
 
SCOUTING ULM
The Warhawks are 6-10 on the weekend and 3-5 in the Sun Belt Conference. After starting 3-1 in conference play, ULM has dropped four straight matches – all on the road. The Warhawks are 35-45 on the season in dual matches and are led by Hala Badwy on court one with a 7-5 record. In doubles, ULM sports an 11-26 combined record.
 
SCOUTING LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns went the weekend 6-9 overall and 2-6 in the conference. Louisiana has lost four straight and will look to right the ship on Saturday against Texas State prior to taking on the Mavericks. Carla Urchoegui and Momoko Toshimura both lead the Cajuns with 8 singles win on the season – all coming in dual action. In doubles play, Louisiana is 15-24 combined on the year with Angel Santiago and Catarina Zheng owning a team-high 4-3 record.
 
UP NEXT
The Mavericks will look to make up its match against Arkansas State next Friday (April 15) to end the regular season before heading to Peachtree City, Georgia for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament the following week.
