GOOD AS ADVERTISED
Avery Brittingham is living up to expectations as through nine games this season, Brittingham has posted a double-double in four of those contests. This has her ranked 30th in the country and sits alone at the top of the WAC leader-boards.

Brittingham has also been a menace on the boards in the infant stages of the season, averaging 8.6 rebounds per contest to lead the Lady Mavs which also has her ranked 80th in the NCAA and 1st in the WAC. In those nine games, Brittingham has pulled down 77 rebounds, 1st in the conference. She seems to be at her best on the defensive end where she averages 7.1 boards per game on defense, which is 2nd in the WAC and 25th in the NCAA.

Gia Adams also was expected to play a huge role when she transferred to UTA from Tennessee State. The 2021-22 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year leads the Lady Mavs averaging 12.4 points per game while also averaging 31.6 minutes played per game. Adams is also second on the team with 14 steals through nine games.

FROM THE CHARITY STRIPE
The Lady Mavs are one of the best teams in the country when it comes to getting to the free throw line, averaging 19.78 free throw attempts per game. This is the 71st best mark in the country and 3rd best in the WAC behind California Baptist (25.75 - 6th in NCAA) and SFA (22.44 - 25th in NCAA).

The 14.11 free throws made per game has the Lady Mavs 3rd in the WAC and 65th in the NCAA while their 71.3-percent from the charity stripe is 4th best in the conference.

MAKING IT RAIN
The Lady Mavs 32.4 percentage from beyond the arc is the 3rd best three-point percentage in the WAC while their 6.1 three pointers per game is the 6th best mark in the conference.

The tandem of Taliyah Clark and Hannah Humphrey lead the charge for the Lady Mavs, with Clark drilling 14 three-pointers and Humphrey hitting 13 so far this season to pace UTA.

The Lady Mavs drained 11 three-pointers in their first contest of the 2023-24 season. They went 11-22 from beyond the arc for a .500 shooting percentage.

FAR FROM RESERVES
The Lady Mavs sport one of the better benches in the WAC, averaging 21.2 points per game, this has UTA 4th in the conference. Humphrey leads the charge averaging 7.8 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 60th meeting between the two programs, with UTA holding a 43-16 edge over the Bearkats. The Lady Mavs are 17-10 when in Huntsville. The last time these two teams met was a double overtime thriller in which the Lady Mavs came out victorious, 106-102, last season at the College Park Center.

SCOUTING SAM HOUSTON
Sam Houston comes into the game sporting a 5-3 overall record and a 4-1 record at home. The Bearkats are coming off a 114-51 win over NAIA opponent Texas College where they had seven players score double digits, led by Raanee Smith who posted a double-double with a career-high 22 points and 16 rebounds. Four Bearkats are averaging double figures in scoring led by Sydnee Kemp (12.4 ppg), Smith (12.3 ppg), Kaylee Jefferson (11.9 ppg) and Diana Rosenthal (11.9 ppg).
