ARLINGTON, TX – The UT Arlington women's basketball program announced the addition of former Lady Mav standout Avery Brittingham to the coaching staff as a program specialist.
Â
Brittingham's role will include providing administrative, operational, recruiting, video/scouting and community engagement support for the UTA women's basketball program.
Â
A Fort Worth, Texas native, Brittingham originally came to UTA her senior season in 2023-24 after transferring from Stephen F. Austin. She was a student-athlete with the Lady Mavs from 2023-2025, completing her collegiate career as a fifth-year senior.
Â
"We're excited to welcome Avery back to College Park Center," said Coach Wright, "One of the most exciting and passionate players to ever wear a Lady Mav jersey, Avery is back on the sideline—mentoring our players, sharing her experience and helping us continue to grow our program."
Â
In her career at UTA, Brittingham established herself as one of the most successful players in Lady Mavs history.
Â
After her first year with the Lady Mavs, Brittingham posted career bests in points (13.1), rebounds (8.4), assists (3.9) and blocks (1.3) per game. She eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau and helped propel the Lady Mavs to their best-ever finish in the WAC, posting an 11-9 conference record and advancing to the WAC Tournament semifinals.
Â
Brittingham earned Second Team All-WAC in 2024 and First Team All-WAC in 2025. She started in all 130 games with the Mavericks, and she is three of five triple doubles that have been recorded in program history:
