ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington women's tennis team (4-1) is set to face UT Dallas (10 a.m.) and Collin College (2 p.m.) in a doubleheader on Sunday at the UTA Tennis Center.
The Mavericks will look to continue their winning streak at home. They hold a 4-0 record at the UTA Tennis Center for the season, with wins over Dallas Baptist, Prairie View, Arkansas State and Cameron.
The Mavs were dominant in their most recent match against Cameron, dropping only one point for the 6-1 victory.
Liz Chileno and
Francisca Vergara are undefeated in singles for the season. They both hold 3-0 records at the No. 1 and No. 6 positions.
Ana Paula Jimenez is also undefeated with a 2-0 record.
Tara Gorinsek continues to impress on Court 3 with a 4-1 singles record.
Jimenez and Gorinsek have also had success in doubles action, where they hold a 3-1 record on Court 1. Chileno and
Sarina Reinertsen are also a team to look out for, posting a 4-1 record on Court 2.
SCOUTING UTD
The Comets are 4-1 for the spring season going into Sunday's match. This will be the first meeting between the UTD and UTA.
SCOUTING COLLIN COLLEGE
The Cougars are 5-6 for the season. This will also be the first meeting between the Mavericks and the Cougars.
