ARLINGTON, Texas– The UTA women's tennis team (7-2) is set to be back in the UTA Tennis Center on Wednesday to face Drake at 2 p.m.
The Mavericks are coming off a 6-1 win over UTSA in San Antonio.
Ana Paula Jimenez remains undefeated after a straight set win over the Roadrunners. She holds a 6-0 record on Courts 4 and 5 for the Mavs.
Senior
Liz Chileno has been steady on Court 1, holding a 6-1 record for the season. She defeated Texas Tech in the deciding set tiebreaker, and looks to rebound after her loss to UTSA.
Francisca Vergara also holds a 6-1 record, with wins on Courts 5 and 6. She is coming off a deciding set tiebreaker win over UTSA and looks to continue her success.
The Mavericks have been a force in doubles, with Courts 1, 2 and 3 holding winning records for the season.
Chileno and
Sarina Reinertsen have been dominant on Court 2, with only two losses on the season. They hold a 6-2 record and look to continue the momentum after a 6-1 win over UTSA.
Jimenez and
Tara Gorinsek have also contributed to doubles success on Court 1. They hold a 5-3 record and look to rebound from their loss at UTSA.
Vergara and
Bruna Casasampere were key in taking the doubles point over UTSA with a 6-4 win on Court 3. The duo holds a 3-1 record going into Wednesday's match.
SCOUTING DRAKE
The Bulldogs hold a 7-4 record for the season. This will be the first meeting between the Mavericks and the Bulldogs.
