ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington women's tennis team (8-2) is set to face Abilene Christian on Friday at 1 p.m. in the John T.L. Jones Tennis Building in Abilene. They will also face Tarleton State Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Potishman-Lard Tennis Courts in Stephenville. These will be the first two opponents from the Western Athletic Conference this season.
 
The Mavericks are coming off a win over Drake on Wednesday. After dropping the doubles point, they came back to win the match 4-3.
 
Senior Liz Chileno looks to continue her success as the primary No. 1 player. She defeated Ines Stephani from Drake in a deciding set and holds a 7-1 record.
 
Francisca Vergara also holds a 7-1 record for the season. She is coming off a straight-set win over Drake and a deciding set tiebreaker win over UTSA.
 
Ana Paula Jimenez faced her first loss against Drake in a deciding set. She still holds a 6-1 record with wins on Courts 4 and 5.
 
Vergara and Bruna Casasampere are heading into Friday's match with a 4-1 doubles record on Court 3. They pulled out the only doubles win against Drake, defeating Elizabete Klavinska and Jyun-Yi 6-3.
 
Chileno and Sarina Reinertsen have been steady as a pair on Court 2 for the Mavs. They hold a 6-3 record and are looking to bounce back after their loss to Drake.
 
SCOUTING ACU
The Wildcats are 6-8 overall for the season. This will be the second meeting between the Mavericks and Wildcats, with UTA holding a 0-1 record. Their last meeting was in 1990, with ACU winning 9-0. This will be the first WAC matchup for both teams.

SCOUTING TARLETON
The Texans are 8-4 overall for the season. This will be the fourth meeting between the Mavericks and Texans, with UTA holding a 3-0 record since their last meeting in 2021. This will be the second WAC matchup for both teams, with the Texans facing UT Rio Grande Valley on Friday.
