Women's Tennis Set for Series of Road Matches

ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington women's tennis team (12-2, 4-0 WAC) looks to remain undefeated in WAC play as they travel to Utah Tech and Seattle. They will face the Trailblazers at 1 p.m. Friday and the Redhawks at 1 p.m. Sunday.
 
The Mavericks are coming off a strong 4-3 win over Grand Canyon. They have also defeated WAC opponents Abilene Christian, Tarleton State and New Mexico State.
 
Sarina Reinertsen had a notable singles performance against the Lopes, clinching the victory for the Mavs in the deciding set. She moved 9-2 on the season on Court 3 and remains undefeated in WAC play.
 
Ana Paula Jimenez has also been steady, holding a 10-1 record on the season. She also remains 4-0 in WAC play, defeating Tarleton, New Mexico State and Grand Canyon in straight sets.
 
Francisca Vergara also earned her tenth win against the Lopes, going 10-2 overall for the season. She has only dropped one conference match to hold a 3-1 record in WAC play.
 
Reinertsen and senior Liz Chileno have been key in doubles success for the Mavericks. The pair have been solid on Court 2, tallying victories over Tarleton, New Mexico State and Grand Canyon. They hold a 9-3 overall record on the season.
 
SCOUTING UTAH TECH
The Trailblazers are 2-13 on the season and 0-3 in WAC play. They will face the Mavericks in their fourth conference match of the season. This will be the first meeting between UTA and Utah Tech.
 
SCOUTING SEATTLE
The Redhawks hold a 3-7 record for the season and are 1-2 in WAC play. They will take on the Mavericks after facing WAC opponent UT Rio Grande Valley on Friday. The Mavericks hold a 1-0 record over the Redhawks after their last meeting in 2013. Elena Kraleva is coming into the match as WAC Singles Player of the Week as their primary No. 1 player.
