ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington women's tennis team (6-2) is set to travel to San Antonio and face UTSA on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Mavericks are coming off a 5-2 loss to Texas Tech on Friday. They had won six consecutive home matches before their loss to the Red Raiders.
Senior
Liz Chileno has yet to drop a match on Court 1 after defeating TTU's Olivia Peet 10-8 in the deciding set tiebreaker. She holds a 6-0 record for the season.
Ana Paula Jimenez also remains undefeated, posting a 5-0 record with wins on Courts 4 and 5. She also pulled out a deciding set tiebreaker win over the Red Raiders, defeating Yekaterina Dmitrichenko 10-7 for the match.
Chileno and Jimenez also hold strong doubles records on Courts 1 and 2. Chileno and
Sarina Reinertsen hold a 5-2 record at the No. 2 position, while Jimenez and
Tara Gorinsek maintain a 5-2 record on Court 1. Both pairs have only two losses to Texas Tech and Wichita State.
SCOUTING UTSA
The Roadrunners are 8-6 for the spring season. Aleksandra Zlatarova holds an 11-2 record as UTSA's primary No. 1 player, and Alexandra Weir holds a 10-4 record as their primary No. 2 player. The Mavericks hold a 24-7 record over the Roadrunners after their last meeting in 2021 with the Mavs pulling out the 4-3 win.
