AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Relays concluded, and
Joel Bengtsson finished with his second fastest time of the outdoor season in the men's 110-meter hurdles.
In a highly touted field, Bengtsson finished seventh in the men's 110-meter hurdles finals with a time of 13.70. The time places Bengtsson in the top-20 in the nation, coming in 17th overall in the NCAA.
The previous day in the men's 110-meter hurdles prelims, Bengtsson clocked his fastest time of the outdoor season with a mark of 13.54, matching his collegiate personal record he ran in the prelims in the Texas Relays the previous season.
TEXAS RELAYS TEAM RECAP
Shelby West and
Zaire Moore competed on the first day of running events at Texas Relays. Both athletes ran the women's 400-meter hurdles, an event with over 100 athletes from all over the county.
West competed in the women's first round prelims in a stacked field. She finished in 32nd place with a time of 1:01.05. She did not qualify for the finals in this event but is still scheduled to compete in the 100m hurdles and in the 4x400m relay.
Zaire Moore competed in the 400-meter timed finals. In a field with over 75 athletes and 11 heats, Moore finished 28th with a time of 1:02.64. She is also set to compete in the 100m hurdles and the 4x400m relay with West.
Khalid Mendez set a collegiate PR in the men's 100-meter dash timed final with a time of 10.52. He placed 37th in a field with almost 150 athletes.
In the women's timed final,
Madison Pippins placed 5th with a collegiate PR of 11.51.
Mikeya Washington also set a colligate PR of 11.73, placing 23rd out of 127 athletes.

Glodis Thuridardottir,
Zaire Moore and
Tatyana Terrell competed in the 4x400 meter relay prelims and finished 23rd with a season's best time of 3:44.70.
The women's 4x100 meter relay team,
Madison Pippins,
Adeyemi Talabi,
Tatyana Terrell and
Mikeya Washington competed in the prelims and finished 22nd with a time of 45.63.
In the men's distance medley,
Jackson Cichon started strong with a 3:04.93 in the 1200-meter followed by Jarvis miles with a 48.58 400-meter split and ended with
Jacob Ye in the 800-meter and Alfredo Corona closing with a 4:15.98 1600-meter. They finished in 9th place with a time of 10:04.83.
