ARLINGTON, Texas --- Blinn College's Hannah Humphrey has officially signed with the UT Arlington women's basketball program.
The 5-8 guard will join the Lady Mavs after a pair of seasons with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I program, where she averaged 12.3 points, three rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a sophomore while shooting .347 from long distance. She started 11 of 33 games, as well.
"Hannah is a knock-down shooter who will add another dimension of scoring to our roster," UTA head coach
Shereka Wright said. "She can score from multiple areas on the floor. Hannah has good size on the perimeter to help with rebounding on both ends of the floor. She comes from a winning culture and will bring a competitive mindset to our program."
Humphrey earned NJCAA Division I Second Team All-American recognition this past season while leading Blinn to a national quarterfinal appearance. She finished as the team's second leading scorer in each of her seasons, including a freshman year where she averaged 11.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting .335 from long distance with five starts over 32 appearances.
In her JUCO career, Humphrey totaled 37 games with 10-or-more points, including a career-best 21 as a sophomore, while tallying six games with at least 20 plus points in each of her two campaigns. She poured in a career-high 26 points three times, the last of which came in a win over Coastal Bend on Feb. 4 of this past season.
A native of Kendleton, Texas, Humphrey prepped at Lamar Consolidated.
