ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's and women's track and field teams continue their outdoor seasons this Saturday, April 22, when the Mavs head to Baylor's Michael Johnson Invitational from the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium in Waco, Texas.
As well as the Michael Johnson Invitational, some Mavericks, specifically the vaulters, will be competing at the John Jacobs Invitational hosted by Oklahoma in Norman.

COMPETING TEAMS
Baylor (Michael Johnson Invitational): Along with UTA and host Baylor, the following teams are set to compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational: Abilene Christian, Arizona State, Boston, Illinois State, IWU, Iowa, Kansas State, Kent State, Kentucky, Nebraska, North Texas, Northern Illinois, Northwestern State, Sam Houston, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, TCU, Texas, Texas State and Texas Tech.
Oklahoma (John Jacobs Invitational): Along with UTA and host Oklahoma, the following teams are scheduled to compete in the John Jacobs Invitational: Arkansas Tech, Barton County CC, Butler CC, Cameron, Central Oklahoma, Cowley College, Drake, East Central, Friends, Midwestern State, Oklahoma Baptist, Oklahoma Christian, Oklahoma State, Science & Arts, Southern Nazarene and Stephen F. Austin.
STORYLINES
- Joel Bengtsson in the men's 110-meter hurdles is currently the 28th fastest time in the NCAA and tops in the WAC with a time of 13.70.
- Khalid Mendez comes into the weekend as the reigning WAC Track Athlete of the Week, posting a time of 20.83 in the men's 200-meter dash at the Sooner Invitational & Multis, second best time in the WAC.
- Tatyana Terrell broke the school record in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 53.67, second fastest time in the WAC.
- Madison Pippins holds the second fastest time in the WAC in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.51.
- Josh Hoekendorf sits in fourth in the WAC standings after breaking the school record in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 55.55-meters.
- The women's 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Mikeya Washington, Faith Shaw, Tatyana Terrel and Madison Pippins come in ranked the 48th fastest time in the NCAA and second fastest in the WAC with a mark of 44.73.
- Simona Cabella comes in at the top of the WAC leaderboards in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.85-meters.
- Freshman Calen Jones sits fifth overall in the WAC leaderboards in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.06-meters.
