ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington women's tennis team (13-3, 5-1 WAC) is set to take on UT Rio Grande Valley at 1 p.m. Saturday at the UTA Tennis Center.
The Mavericks are looking to rebound from their close loss to Seattle. They fell 4-3, with the deciding match coming down to a tiebreaker.
Ana Paula Jimenez earned her twelfth win to move her winning streak to six consecutive matches. She defeated Seattle's Jade Quintana 6-1, 6-0 on Court 5 and Utah Tech's Alysha Damron with the same score. This was her fifth consecutive match won in straight sets as she remains undefeated in WAC play.
Francisca Vergara also continues to impress on Court 6, moving her record to 12-2 with a win over Seattle. With a 6-0, 6-1 win over Shuanghui Huang and a 6-1, 6-1 win over Utah Tech's Raquel Roshak, she continued her five match winning streak, all in straight sets.
Sarina Reinertsen moved her winning streak to eight consecutive matches on Court 3 with two straight-set victories over Seattle and Utah Tech. Aside from Grand Canyon, Reinertsen's conference opponents have earned no more than three games per set. She holds an 11-2 record on the season and looks to remain undefeated in WAC play.

Liz Chileno earned their tenth win as a doubles team over Utah Tech on Court 2. The 6-3 win moved them to 10-3 on the season and 4-0 in WAC matches.
SCOUTING UTRGV
The Vaqueros hold a 10-6 overall record for the season. They are tied with the Mavericks for most WAC wins at 5-1. They have defeated Abilene Christian, Grand Canyon and New Mexico State as well as Seattle. Their only loss was to Tarleton State in March. The Mavericks hold a 10-1 record over the Vaqueros. In their last meeting in 2019, the Mavs won 4-0 at the UTA Tennis Center.
