ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington's
Marley Neises has been named to the All-WAC Second Team, announced by the conference Monday evening.
Neises has had an outstanding freshman campaign and continues to play a vital role in head coach
Kara Dill's lineup. The freshman holds an impressive .427 batting average in WAC play alone and a .382 batting average overall. She leads UTA in several batting categories such as RBI (25), slugging percentage (.602%), stolen bases (20), hits (47) and OPS (1.043).
"We are so thrilled for Marley to be recognized as one of the top performers in the conference," said Dill. "Her consistent and competitive approach have helped lead our team in some of the most clutch moments this season. I am looking forward to her continued growth and success in this conference - the future is bright for Marley and UTA Softball!"

In conference action, Neises paces the Mavericks' lineup with an OPS of 1.186, a .680 slugging percentage, 17 stolen bases, 12 walks, 23 runs scored and holds the second-best number of RBI on the team with 15.

The outfielder broke the program record for the most hits in a single game on March 17 at against Southern Utah where she logged a perfect 5-5 performance at the plate. Neises is tied with the fifth-most hits in conference action with 32 on the year and has turned in nine multi-hit efforts in 21 conference games.Â
