UTA Softball Adds Pair of Transfers for 2027 Season

ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington softball head coach Kara Dill announced the addition of two transfers, Ciana Arguijo and Audrey Lopetegui to the Mavericks' 2027 roster.
 
ABOUT THE RECRUITS
 
CIANA ARGUIJO
OF/UTL, 5-2, Sophomore
Round Rock, Texas/Rouse HS—Abilene Christian
 
Arguijo arrives at UTA after a standout freshman campaign at Abilene Christian. The versatile utility player started 45 of 47 games, posting a .271 batting average and a .343 slugging percentage while recording 38 hits and 24 runs scored. She also set ACU's single-season stolen base record with 18 steals.
 
Off the field, Arguijo earned Dean's List honors and maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
A 2025 graduate of Rouse High School, Arguijo earned recognition on the 2025 PGF Senior All-American Regional Watch List and was a finalist for the 2024 Regional All-American Watch List. She helped Blaze United Robertson capture the Summer Cup title in 2023 and was named the 2022 District 25-5A Newcomer of the Year. Arguijo also garnered four First Team All-District selections, NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, the Merit Scholar Award and Austin American-Statesmen All-Central Texas Honorable Mention recognition. In track and field, she helped set the school record in the 4x100-meter relay at Rouse.
 
Arguijo plans to pursue a degree in business management and marketing at UTA.
 
 
AUDREY LOPETEGUI
RHP, 5-7, Sophomore
Torrance, Calif./Torrance West HS—Long Beach State
 
Lopetegui, comes to UTA after spending her freshman season at Long Beach State, where she appeared in 17 games and made three starts in the circle. The 5'7 right-handed pitcher posted a 2-3 record with one save across 28.1 innings pitched, recording 12 strikeouts while facing 160 batters.
 
The Torrance, California native was a standout performer at West High School, earning Athlete of the Year honors as a senior. She is also a 2x Pioneer League MVP and earned All-CIF honors as a junior while collecting four All-League selections throughout her prep career. In the classroom, Lopetegui was a 4x Honor Roll student and graduated with both the California States Seal of Biliteracy and the Golden State Seal Merit Diploma.
 
Lopetegui will continue her studies as a biology major at UTA.
