ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington baseball signee Josh Bostick was selected in the 8th round, 240th overall, by the San Francisco Giants in the 2023 MLB Draft.
Bostick hails from McKinney, Texas and is a junior college transfer out of Grayson College in Denison, Texas.
At Grayson this past season, Bostick appeared in 11 games, making 10 starts on the mound and going the distance for two complete games. In his 60.2 innings pitched, Bostick posted a 2.52 earned run average while striking out 103 batters compared to just 28 walks for a 15.28 average of strikeouts per nine innings. He finished with a 3-0 record for the season.
Bostick spent a season at Howard College during the 2020-2021 school year, where he was a part of a Western Junior College Athletic Conference championship. Bostick played in the MLB draft league, a collegiate summer league, for the Williamsport Crosscutters during 2021.
A 2020 graduate of McKinney High School where he was a three-year letterwinner. During his tenure, Bostick was named to the Academic All-District team, named team MVP and recipient of the Big Stick Award.
