ARLINGTON – The UT Arlington women's basketball team's 2023-24 Western Athletic Conference schedule was officially released by league officials Wednesday morning.

Dec. 2 Grand Canyon
Jan. 4 Tarleton State
Jan. 6 Stephen F. Austin
Jan. 11 @ Utah Valley
Jan. 13 @ Seattle U
Jan. 18 @ UTRGV
Jan. 20 Abilene Christian
Jan. 27 @ Grand Canyon
Feb. 1 Southern Utah
Feb. 3 Utah Tech
Feb. 8 California Baptist
Feb. 10 @ Stephen F. Austin
Feb. 15 @ Tarleton State
Feb. 17 UTRGV
Feb. 21 @ Southern Utah
Feb. 24 @ Utah Tech
Feb. 29 Seattle U
March 2 Utah Valley
March 7 @ California Baptist

Among the schedule highlights:
  • A late November/early December start with a pair of games to help make scheduling the remaining 18 conference games after the new calendar year easier.
  • Defending WAC regular season and tournament champion, Southern Utah, visits the College Park Center on Feb. 1. The Lady Mavs pulled off a 60-58 win at home on Feb. 6 over the Thunderbirds last year.
  • 2023 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) champion, California Baptist, visits Arlington on Feb. 8 while Stephen F. Austin visits on Jan. 6 after making the second round of the WNIT last year.
  • UTA's two intra-conference transfer additions, Avery Brittingham (SFA) and Taliyah Clark (Seattle U), will get the first chance to face their former teams on Jan. 6 and Jan. 13, respectively.
  • Former Lady Mav guard and assistant coach Jordynn Hernandez, who is now an assistant coach at SFA, will return to the College Park Center with her team Jan. 6.
  • This will be the sixth time in program history the Mavericks will play 20 league games with three coming from 2000-03 in the Southland Conference and the other two from 2014-16 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Season ticket deposits are being accepted for this year. With a one-time deposit of only $50 per seat, fans can lock in their season ticket(s) at the state-of-the-art College Park Center as UTA ushers in its second-consecutive and third overall season in the revamped and highly competitive WAC:
  • The deposit guarantees all renewing season-ticket holders the same seat(s) as the 2022-23 season, and/or will put them in line for a potential upgrade or change in location, if desired.
  • For all new season-ticket purchasers, the deposit gives priority toward all remaining seat allocations.
  • Provides the opportunity for potential interactive experiences with head coach Shereka Wright and her staff through the Maverick Club.
Click here to make your deposit today. All deposit payment(s) will be applied to the final season ticket total later this summer once prices are finalized. To make a payment over the phone or in person, please contact the UTA Box Office during normal business hours at 817-272-9595 or boxoffice@uta.edu.

The Lady Mavs will feature an exciting roster in 2023-24, highlighted by the reigning WAC Player of the Year, Starr Jacobs. While she chases the program's all-time scoring greats and attempts to become a three-time conference player of the year, Jacobs will be joined by 11 talented newcomers. Among the group are a pair of intra-conference transfers who bring proven Division I talent to Arlington. Avery Brittingham was a First Team All-WAC selection at Stephen F. Austin this past year while nearly averaging a double-double, and Taliyah Clark averaged nearly 11 points for Seattle U last season. Gia Adams, who averaged 13.4 points over a pair of seasons at Tennessee State, will also bring a talented veteran leader at the point guard position.

UTA's 2023-24 non-conference schedule is still being finalized, and those matchups will be announced in the coming weeks and months, in addition to details and dates for the 2024 WAC Tournament.
