MBB: Mavs Seeking Road Win at Missouri State, Tussle with Bears Tuesday Night

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's basketball travels to Springfield Missouri for a non-conference date with Missouri State on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. CT from the Great Southern Bank Arena. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and on the radio on 102.5 FM and KTNO 620 AM with the Voice of the Mavericks, Josh Sours.

The Mavs got back on track with a comfortable 95-69 win over NAIA foe Texas College on Friday night in Arlington. Missouri State (2-1) knocked off Tulsa 111-106 in triple overtime on Saturday afternoon.

Tuesday night will mark the 11th meeting between UT Arlington and Missouri State, with the series split at 5-5. This will however be the first meeting since 1986, a Bears' win in Arlington.

Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Don West (play-by-play) and Mike McClure (analyst), while 102.5 FM and KTNO 620 AM will carry the game on the radio with the Voice of the Mavericks, Josh Sours.

The Bears are led by first-year head coach Cuonzo Martin. The East St. Louis native is in his second stint in Springfield after previously leading the Bears' program for three seasons (2008-2011). He's also coached at Tennessee, Cal and Missouri.

Missouri State is led by guard Dez White, who is averaging 19.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 3.7 apg. But, it's not just White doing damage for the Bears, who in addition to the Tulsa win, also defeated Missouri Southern. Six Bears are averaging double figures in scoring through their first three games.

UTA is paced by WAC Player and Newcomer of the Week, guard Jaden Wells. The Hurst, Texas, native is averaging a team-high 20.5 ppg, while also pulling down 4.0 rpg and 3.3 apg through the first four games. Wells is one of four Mavericks averaging double figure scoring – forward Raysean Seamster (12.8), forward Jaxon Ellingsworth (11.3) and forward Troy Hupstead (10.3), while another, guard Darius Burford, is averaging 9.5 ppg.

Tuesday night is the first of six straight games away from home for the Mavs, before they are back in the College Park Center on Dec. 14, when UTA hosts Louisiana-Monroe.
