Biography

CAREER OVERVIEW
A Hurst native and D-2 All American, Wells has spent the last four seasons at Division II Central Oklahoma, where he had a stellar career for the Bronchos. During his four seasons, Wells never averaged below 10 points per game while finishing with 1880 career points, which has him third all-time in the Central Oklahoma record books while being first in program history with 308 three-pointers made. Played in 117 games, making 112 starts while only missing one game in his four-year career.
 
During his time at Central Oklahoma, Wells shot an impressive 42.4-percent from the field, 38.9-percent from deep and 89.7-percent from the free throw line in his four seasons in a Broncho's uniform. He corralled 535 career rebounds, dished out 171 assists and had 179 steals during his time in Edmond.

2023-24
During his junior season, played and started in all 31 games and averaged a career-high 21.5 points per game, shooting 41.2-percent from the floor, 34.6-percent from deep and 90.4-percent from the charity stripe. He averaged 4.2 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game. Wells cleaned up on awards during the season, earning Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-American honors, First Team All-MIAA honors, First Team D2CCA All-Region honors and NABC All-District honors. His All-American honor was the first at Central Oklahoma since 2014.

2022-23
Played in and started 31 games as a sophomore for the Bronchos, all but one game for the season and averaged 16.5 points per game as one of the league's top scorers. Shot 43.5 percent from the floor overall, 42.6 percent from behind the arc, and 84.1 percent from the free-throw line while adding 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.2 assists per game. Wells earned All-MIAA honors following the season and was named All-Region by the NABC and D2CCA.

2021-22 
Played in and started all 31 games on MIAA Championship squad for the 2021-22 season. He earned NCAA Statistical Champion for 95.2 percent season at the free-throw line. Played 32.8 minutes per game – second most on the roster – and was a key focus of the program. Registered 14.0 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 1.6 assists per game for the Bronchos. Team sharp shooter with the green light, posting a 45.0 percent mark from the field and a stout 41.7 percent from behind the arc and shot 95.2 percent from the free-throw line, making 79 of 83 attempts, to lead the country. Reached No. 10 on Central's Top 10 list for made three-pointers in one season with 86. Was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA.

2020-21
Played in all 24 games for the Bronchos as a true freshman and made 19 starts during the 2020-21 season. He averaged 11.1 points per game, pouring in 267 points while also averaging 3.9 rebounds per game and led the team with 34 steals. Wells played 26.0 minutes per contest while leading UCO with 59 made 3-pointers, among the best in the MIAA, and hit 37.3 percent of those shots.

HIGH SCHOOL 
In his high school career, Wells earned MVP honors from the Dallas Morning News for Class 6A's District 3 to go with a First Team All-District selection. He scored 578 points during his senior season – the fourth-most in the Dallas-Fort Worth area – and his 21 points per game mark was the third most of any player in the area. Added four rebounds per game and three assists per game to go with that. Was one of just 11 players in the sprawling metro to post at least 500 points and 100 rebounds during the 2019-20 season.
