ARLINGTON– The UT Arlington women's tennis team (1-0) is scheduled to host Dallas Baptist (10 a.m.) and Cameron (2 p.m.) for their next home matches at the UTA Tennis Center on Friday.
The Mavericks are coming off a 7-0 sweep over Prairie View A&M, where each player won in straight sets.
Several Mavs improved on their singles records from the fall, with
Sarina Reinertsen earning her 10th win of the 2023-24 season and
Ana Paula Jimenez earning her 11th.
Bruna Casasampere moved to 7-4, while
Tara Gorinsek moved to 5-1 and
Francisca Vergara moved to 5-5.
Kansas transfer
Mariana Manyoma-Velasquez earned her first win as a Maverick over Prairie View at the No. 2 doubles position. She and partner Reinertsen defeated Francesca Duca and Andrea Pascual Blanca 6-0 to start her career as a Maverick.
SCOUTING DBU
The Patriots are 3-0 on the season, with wins over MSU Denver, Colorado College and CSU Pueblo in September. Saturday's match will be their first of the 2024 season. The Mavericks hold a 5-0 record over the Patriots, with their last meeting in 2023 being a 4-0 victory.
SCOUTING CAMERON
Cameron is looking to play their first dual match of the season on Friday. The Mavs hold a 5-2 record over the Aggies, winning their most recent meeting 6-1 in 2023. The Mavericks have not lost to the Aggies since 1991.
