ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field teams competed in its second outdoor meet of the year at the TCU Alumni Invitational.
After the first day of field events was cut short due to weather conditions, the meet kicked back off on Saturday morning with a rolling schedule of events. However, for the second-straight day, the meet was called off early due to inclement weather.
To kick off the meet,
Kassandra Jimenez ran the women's 3000m steeplechase in 12:06.01s to claim a second-place finish. Following her,
Brandon Wilk won third place in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a pace of 10:06.83s, an outdoor personal record.
Zaire Moore won third place in the women's 100m hurdles with a blistering 14.27s pace.
Winnie Kipsang, coming off a WAC Indoor Freshman of the Year, won the women's 1500m with a mark of 4:31.55s.
In a loaded women's 400m field,
Alexis Cain took home third place with a pace of 55.69s, besting her previous outdoor personal record by more than .30 seconds.
Jarvis Miles ran a 48.80s 400m to claim a second-place finish.
The men's 4x100 relay team consisting of
Brian Brown, Jr.,
Khalid Mendez,
Robert Griffin and
DaVontay Kennedy claimed a first-place finish with a staggering 41.18s mark.
In the women's high jump,
Kaliah Jones won the event with a 1.70m leap, following right behind her was
Jade Bontke, who finished second with a mark of 1.65m.
Brian Brown, Jr. took home first place in the men's 100m with a mark of 10.60s.
The rest of the scheduled events of the day were cancelled due to inclement weather.

John Sauerhage. "I'm still proud of our athletes and how hard they competed, we did well."
