AUSTIN, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field teams closed out a busy day three of the Texas Relays.
The day was highlighted by
Madison Pippins who ran an outdoor personal best in the women's 100m dash with a time of 11.32. That time is the fastest time in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). In a loaded field with over 40 sprinters competing, Pippins placed in the top 20 with a 17th overall finish.
In the women's 100m timed final,
Adeyemi Talabi finished 4th with a time of 11.56 in a stacked field.
In the men's 100m timed final,
Khalid Mendez finished 18th overall with a time of 10.36 in a field with over 100 sprinters from across the country.
"Madison had an outstanding result in the 100 meters," said Head Coach
John Sauerhage. "As well as Khalid, those were our two biggest highlights of the day."
The final day of the Texas Relays is scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 30, with a jam-packed day of events kicking off with the women's discus – b section at 10 a.m.
