PHOENIX– The UT Arlington women's tennis team (14-6, 4-2 WAC) is set for their final regular season match as they take on No. 62 Grand Canyon at the GCU Tennis Facility on Sunday at 11 a.m. CST.

The Mavericks are coming off a four-match winning streak as they have bounced back from their first two Western Athletic Conference (WAC) losses. They have defeated Stephen F. Austin 7-0, UT Rio Grande Valley 5-2, Utah Tech 6-1 and Seattle 6-1.

In singles action, Ioana Dumitrescu has had a strong start to conference play as she made her debut against SFA. She is 5-0 in dual match play and holds a 4-0 WAC record heading into Friday's match. In her most recent victory over Seattle, she closed out the match in a deciding-set tiebreaker on Court 6.

Bruna Casasampere looks to continue her winning streak of five matches after celebrating senior day against Seattle. She holds the most WAC wins on the team at 5-1 after a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win over Seattle.

Casasampere has also been impressive in doubles action alongside partner Francisica Vergara as they remain undefeated in WAC play. They made their Court 1 debut against Utah Tech, where they defeated their opponents in an exciting tiebreaker. Against Seattle, they earned another Court 1 victory to put them at 5-0 in conference play.

SCOUTING GRAND CANYON
The Lopes are currently 18-2 on the season and 6-0 in WAC play. They are the only team in the WAC that holds a ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) at No. 62 in the nation. Natasha Puehse currently holds the No. 96 singles ranking while she and doubles partner Santa Strombacha are No. 88 in doubles. The Mavs currently hold a 1-1 record against the Lopes after their first two meetings in the 2023 season.
