FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The UT Arlington cross country teams prepare for Arkansas' prestigious Chile Pepper Festival that is set for Saturday, Oct. 4 from Agri Park.
The collegiate men's 8k, known as the McDonnell Memorial, is slated to begin at 10:25 a.m. with the women's 5k, known as Harter's Habanero, immediately following at 11:00 a.m.

The last appearance the Mavericks made in the Razorbacks' event was back in 2023 as the women saw a fourth-place finish where
Matro Jepkemboi took home an impressive sixth-place finish with a time of 17:03.3 in the women's 5k.

Toby Eaton are coming off WAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors after capturing top performances back at the Texas A&M Invitational nearly three weeks ago. There, Jepkosgei captured a tremendous winning time of 16:46.0 in the women's 5k which marked a new course record for the Aggies' event. It also was the first time a UTA Maverick has claimed the top spot at the invitational.
Eaton made a strong appearance in College Station, finishing in 11th place finish after posting a time of 24:09.3 in the men's 8k. Back at UTA's season opening Gerald Richey on Sept. 5, Eaton paced the Mavs with a time of 15:07.1 for a fourth-place finish.
