ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington baseball head coach
Mike Trapasso announced Wednesday that the Mavs have added five standouts during the fall signing period – OF Daylon Brooks, OF Jaxon Casselberry, C Yanu Molina, INF Nicholas Smith and INF/OF Tanner Wagner.

OF | Daylon Brooks | 5'9" | 185 | R/R | South Grand Prairie HS
Brooks is someone who brings a lot of athleticism to Arlington. A multi-sport athlete, Brooks also plays quarterback for South Grand Prairie's football team. He projects as a top of the order bat and should develop into an outstanding defensive outfielder. As a junior in 2025, Brooks hit .408 with a home run and 13 extra base hits (eight doubles, four triples and a home run) and 18 walks in 71 at-bats.
OF | Jaxon Casselberry | 6'2" | 215 | R/R | Fort Worth Christian
Casselberry has an outstanding upside and should develop into a middle of the order bat with power. He has a lot of athleticism and physicality. As a junior, Casselberry played at Argyle HS, where he hit .412 in 2025.
C | Yanu Molina | 5'10" | 190 | L/R | Lake Travis HS
Molina, the son of future Hall of Fame catcher Yadier Molina, he was raised in a baseball family and grew up around the game his whole life. The Lake Travis standout is a left-handed hitting catcher with a tremendous feel for the position. Molina helped lead Lake Travis to the 2025 District 26-6A Champions.
INF | Nicholas Smith | 5'10" | 185 | R/R | Mansfield Timberview HS
Smith brings a ton of athleticism and versatility and projects as a high-quality middle infielder with plus speed and plus power potential. Smith was named to the THSBCA 5-A All-State Second Team and First Team All-District (8-5A) following his junior season in 2025. Smith hit .424 with 28 RBI and 16 doubles as a junior.
INF/OF | Tanner Wagner | 6'3" | 190 | L/R | Cisco JC/Halletsville HS
Wagner, another son of a Major Leaguer (Ryan Wagner) has the potential to be a high-end offensive weapon that also has a ton of defensive versatility. Out of Halletsville HS in Halletsville, Texas, Wagner is currently at Cisco JC where he will play the upcoming season before coming to UTA as a sophomore.
