UTA to Host Champions for Literacy Nights Monday Against Tarleton State (MBB) and Jan. 3 Against Southern Utah (WBB)

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's and women's basketball will be hosting Champions for Literacy Nights, one for each program. The men's game will be Monday night against Tarleton State at 7 p.m. CT at the College Park Center, while the women's game will be the Lady Mavs' WAC home opener against Southern Utah on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. CT, also at the CPC.

UT Arlington has partnered with the Champions for Literacy to help bring awareness to the importance of childhood reading in our community. Reading is transformative and every kid deserves to be a great reader.

UTA men's basketball enters the WAC season at 8-4, the program's best start since 2017-18, when the team opened at 9-4 through the non-conference slate. They host Tarleton State (9-4) and are looking to improve to 5-0 at home this season.

UTA women's basketball opens its WAC season on the road in Stephenville at Tarleton State, and the Lady Mavs are doing so at 6-6 after a very challenging non-conference schedule. UTA knocked will return home on Jan. 3, to host Southern Utah and seeks a 4-1 start at the CPC.
