CONWAY, Ark. – The UT Arlington women's tennis team (4-5) return to the courts on Thursday, March 7, when they travel to Conway for a battle with Central Arkansas (5-5) from the Conway Tennis Center with first serve at 10 a.m. CT.
The Mavericks are currently in the midst of a two-match skid and look to get back to their winning ways and pick up their first victory of the month of March. This is the second match in three days for the Mavs and second in the month of March.
Ana Paula Jimenez leads the way for UTA, holding steady with a 3-0 dual match record, all coming on Court 1.
Ioana Dumitrescu has the most singles victories for the Mavs with four, holding a 4-5 record, all coming from Court 4. The tandem of Jimenez and Dumitrescu have been steady for the Mavs in doubles action, boasting a 4-2 overall record, all coming from Court 2. The duo of
Mialy Ranaivo and
Valeriia Ivanovskaia carry a 3-3 doubles record, all coming from Court 1.
This will be the seventh overall meeting between the two teams, with UTA holding a perfect 6-0 record that dates back to their first matchup back in 2007. This will be the first time since 2012 the two programs meet. Away from Arlington, the Mavs are 3-0 and this will be their first trip to Conway since 2011.
SCOUTING CENTRAL ARKANSAS
UCA enters the match holding a 5-5 overall record with a 2-2 record at home. They dropped their last match out against Murray State in a tight 4-3 battle back on March 2 and are 2-3 in their last five matches.
