How It Happened
After falling behind 22-11, UT Arlington went on a 6-0 run with 8:02 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from guard Darius Burford, to narrow its deficit to 22-17. CBU answered back and added to its lead, leaving the Mavericks down 36-29 entering halftime.
After intermission, UT Arlington kept the Lancers from increasing their lead before going on a 10-0 run, finished off by Talbot's layup, to seize a 47-44 lead with 12:33 to go in the contest.
In a game with 14 lead changes, the Mavs held multiple leads inside the final five minutes in the back-and-forth affair. CBU tied things at 68-68 on a pull-up jumper from Dominique Daniels, Jr., and then he hit the final three free throws of the contest to give the Lancers the win. A desperation heave by Talbot at the buzzer from beyond half court in the final second came off the backboard.
