MBB: Mavs Add Troy Transfer Marcus Rigsby, Jr.

ARLINGTON – UT Arlington men's basketball announced Thursday that head coach KT Turner has signed Troy transfer and Fort Worth native G Marcus Rigsby, Jr..

As a junior this past season, Rigsby averaged 6.9 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game in 34 appearances (30 starts) at Troy. He played 21.3 minutes per game for the Sun Belt Champions and connected on 43 three-pointers for the Trojans.

The Fort Worth native appeared in 28 games with two starts during his first season on campus at Troy, playing 11.9 minutes per game. He shot 34.3 percent from distance and 70.0 percent from the charity stripe.
 
Prior to his time at Troy, Rigsby played two seasons at Tyler Junior College, where in 2022-23 he played all 30 games. He led the team in scoring, with 15.4 points per game on 43.6 percent shooting, including 35.6 percent from 3-point range. Additionally, Rigsby pulled down 3.0 rebounds and dished out 2.2 assists per game. In 2021-22 Rigsby played five games and averaged 10.0 points while shooting 48.6 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three-point range while also averaging 2.6 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game.

Rigsby attended Irving MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas where he was a 1,000-point scorer.
 
Rigsby joins high school signee Amari Reed as new additions to the Mavs' roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
