Mavs Set To Close Out Home Schedule, Host Prairie View A&M For Senior Day

ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington women's tennis team (6-8) return home to close out the 2024-25 regular season home schedule when they host Prairie View A&M (4-22) on Sunday, April 6, at the UTA Tennis Center for Senior Day.

First serve is slated for 1 p.m. CT but prior to the match, there will be a special ceremony highlighting our four seniors in Ana Paula Jimenez, Ioana Dumitrescu, Nika Novikova and Mialy Ranaivo.

The Mavericks have seen the bulk of their success come at home, where they boast a 5-3 record at the UTA Tennis Center, winning last time out at home over Tarleton State 4-2 back on March 30.

Last time out against UTSA, the Mavs fell 4-0 to the Roadrunners down in San Antonio on Friday, April 4.

Ana Paula Jimenez leads the way for UTA, holding steady with a 6-1 dual match record, all coming on Court 1. Ioana Dumitrescu holds a 6-7 dual match record, all coming from Court 4. The tandem of Jimenez and Dumitrescu have been steady for the Mavs in doubles action, boasting a 5-5 overall record, all coming from Court 2. The duo of Mialy Ranaivo and Valeriia Ivanovskaia also carry a 5-5 doubles record, all coming from Court 1.

This will be the sixth overall meeting between the two programs with UTA holding the edge with a perfect 5-0 record in the all-time series. The first matchup came back in 2017 and all five of the previous matches all took place in Arlington. In the all-time series, the Mavs have surrendered only two points to the Panthers in their five matches.
