Outdoor Regular Season Finale On Tap For Track & Field

FORT WORTH, Texas – The UT Arlington track and field teams gear up for their regular season finale this Saturday, May 3, when they head to Fort Worth to compete in the one-day TCU Horned Frog Invitational at the Lowden Track and Field Complex.
 
Tuning up before the 2025 Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Mavericks will be joined by host TCU, WAC foe Abilene Chirstian, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Northwestern State, Oklahoma and Wichita State.
 
Field events kick off at 8 a.m. CT with action starting on the track at 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate. Fans can also follow along with live results provided by Mile Split Texas.
 
Nine members of the men's team while four members of the women's squad come into the weekend looking to improve on their top 50 marks in the NCAA Div. I West Outdoor Region with hopes to move up in the standings and qualify. 
 
In the men's 800m, the Mavs have two of the top runners in the Western Athletic Conference with Alex Kalmar and Kash Powell sitting atop the leaderboards. Not only do they sit one and two in the WAC they both sit in the top 25 in the West standings. Kalmar sits 15th in the West with a time of 1:47.47 while Powell holds steady in 24th with a time of 1:48.12. On the women's side of the 800m, Winnie Kipsang holds the top spot in the conference and sits 29th in the West with a time of 2:05.16.
 
Randon Gray sits 20th in the West with a mark of 5.33m as he looks to return to the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
 
The Mavs have three in the top 50 in the decathlon with Luke Bontke leading the charge with 7232 total points and sitting in 19th in the West. Levi Bontke sits 38th with 6852 total points and Christian Coker sits in 50th with 6655 total points.
 
Both Calen Jones and Miles Jones sit in a tie for 38th in the West in the men's high jump with marks of 2.09m. On the women's side of the high jump, McKinley Novacek sits in 46th with a mark of 1.75m.
 
In the men's shot put, Hayden Wilson sits 31st in the West with a mark of 18.33m. Wilson moved into the West standings as well as atop the WAC leaderboards after his performance last week at the Joe Gillespie Invitational. Teammate Desmond Frazier sits second on the WAC leaderboards with a mark of 17.77m.
 
In the women's 100m hurdles, Zaire Moore moved into the top 50 in the West after running a 13.55 last week at the Joe Gillespie Invitational. The time has Moore sitting 40th in the West while moving her into second on the WAC leaderboard.
 
Adeyemi Talabi sits in 50th in the women's 100m with a time of 11.51.
 
NEXT UP
The Mavs will turn their attention to the 2025 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be hosted by the Mavs at Maverick Stadium from May 15-17.
