UT Arlington's Early Slate Reflects One of the Nation’s Tougher Tests

ARLINGTON, Texas – Through their first 20 games of the 2026 season, UT Arlington has already taken on one of the nation's most demanding schedules, with a No. 19 strength of schedule and a No. 107 RPI according to D1Baseball.com.

The Mavericks' early stretch has featured multiple ranked opponents, including a neutral-site win over No. 7 TCU, a three-game series at No. 8 Arkansas (where Dygert and the Mavs took a win), a midweek matchup at No. 9 Oklahoma, and a series win over No. 24 UTSA. That level of competition has given UTA an early-season résumé that reflects both the difficulty of the schedule and the opportunity that the Mavericks have already embraced.

While the record may not yet fully reflect it, UT Arlington has been tested in nearly every phase of the game against some of the best teams on its schedule. The Mavericks have already proven they can compete in high-level environments, and the strength of the opposition has helped sharpen the group as it moves deeper into the season and closer to conference play.

For UTA, the early portion of the year has provided a clear picture of the standard ahead. The Mavericks have faced established programs, earned results against ranked opponents, and continued to build experience that should serve them well as the season progresses.
