ARLINGTON, Texas –
Hank Harp capped an emotional Senior Day with a walk-off three-run home run in the 11th inning, lifting UT Arlington to an 8-5 win over Utah Tech on Sunday morning at Clay Gould Ballpark. The victory gives UTA the series win and clinches a spot in the WAC Conference Tournament. The Mavericks improve to 18-28 overall and 7-8 in WAC play.
Preston Knott provided the offensive spark early, launching a pair of home runs — a solo shot in the third and another in the seventh — to pace the UTA lineup. The Mavericks traded runs throughout a back-and-forth contest before Harp delivered the walk-off in the 11th, sending the Senior Day crowd home with a celebration.
Merek Sears tossed four scoreless innings in relief to keep UTA in the game, and
Hayes Melville closed it out to earn the win, improving to 3-0 on the season.
