Sinha set to tee off at Bryan Regional

BRYAN, Texas – For the first time since 2013, UT Arlington men's golf will be represented at the NCAA Men's Golf Championship. The Mavericks are sending Arth Sinha to the Bryan Regional after the freshman clinched a spot in the field by winning the individual crown at the 2026 Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship.

The Bryan Regional is one of six, all of which begin Monday and run through Wednesday. The low five teams and the low individual not on said teams in each region will advance to the championship finals, which run from May 29-June 3 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

There will be 54 holes of stroke play, with one round being played each day of the tournament.

  • Sinha enters regionals coming off a dominant, wire-to-wire individual championship performance at the WAC tournament. The freshman posted rounds of 68-69-72 for a 7-under 209, finishing five strokes clear of second place. Sinha helped UTA finish as the WAC runner up, finishing just one stroke back of Tarleton State for the team title. The Melbourne, Florida-native also recorded the best score on par-4's of the tournament at 4-under while no other players were below par. Sinha also played mistake-averse golf, recording just one double bogey or worse in his 72 holes, the lowest in the field. The freshman is the first Maverick to win an individual conference championship since Paul McConnell won the WAC in 2013 and the fifth overall. Sinha also nabbed All-WAC first team honors in the wake of his win at the WAC tournament.
