Sinha tabbed as All-WAC First Team selection

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington freshman Arth Sinha is an All-WAC First Team selection, the conference announced Monday. Sinha is the lone Maverick featured in the 2025-26 Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Season Awards.

Sinha's first collegiate season was a strong one. The freshman had the best scoring average among players that competed in the UTA lineup in multiple events with a 72.45.

The Melbourne, Florida-native led the team with 19 rounds of par or better over the course of the season and also carded 10 rounds under par, four of which were in the 60's.

Sinha's best round of the year came in the final round of the Whirlwind invitational at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Arizona. The freshman shot a bogey-free, 7-under-par 65, helping him finish tied for 5th at the tournament.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of Sinha's season came in the 2026 WAC Men's Golf Championship. The Florida-native led the tournament wire-to-wire, posting rounds of 68-69-72 for a 7-under 209. That clinched Sinha the individual WAC championship by five strokes and a trip to the NCAA men's golf championship regionals.

The freshman had the fourth most birdies in the tournament field with 13 and the fewest double bogeys or worse with just one. The Florida-native also had the best score of any player on par-4's at 4-under. No other player at the tournament was under par on such holes. The performance helped UTA finish second as a team, just one stroke back of tournament-winner Tarleton State.

Sinha is the fifth Maverick to ever win an individual conference championship and the first since Paul McConnell won the WAC in 2013. The freshman is also the first all-conference first team selection for UTA since McConnell was a Southland Conference all-conference first team selection in 2012.

The Florida-native now awaits his draw for the 2026 DI men's golf championship. The fields for each regional will be announced at the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Selection Show, set for 1 p.m. May 6 on the Golf Channel. Players will be divided into six different regionals running May 18-20.
