Nguyen Completes Inaugural UTA Flag Football Coaching Staff

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington Flag Football Head Coach Melinda Nguyen has announced the program's inaugural coaching staff, naming Jermaine Conrad and Marlee Marquez as assistant coaches and Alexandra Mansur as graduate assistant coach.

UTA Flag Football adds Conrad and Marquez join as assistant coaches, while Mansur joins as a graduate assistant.

The trio brings a diverse blend of coaching, athlete development, leadership, recruiting, and flag football experience as the Mavericks prepare for the launch of the program.

Jermaine Conrad | Assistant Coach
Conrad brings more than 18 years of coaching experience and an extensive leadership background following a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Navy. He served as head coach and director of H.E.R. Flag Football in Haltom City, Texas, where he oversaw two high school girls flag football teams and helped develop multiple collegiate student-athletes. Throughout his coaching career, Conrad has led championship-winning youth programs and built a reputation for player development, recruitment, and the creation of as built a reputation for player development, recruitment, and creating positive team cultures.

Conrad is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports management at Southern New Hampshire University.

Marlee Marquez | Assistant Coach
Marquez joins the Mavericks with coaching, operations, and athlete representation experience across multiple levels of football. Two-time US National Team member. She served as a coordinator and coach with Flag Star Football, one of the largest youth flag football organizations in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, where she oversees league operations and coaches multiple age groups. Marquez also spent two years as a sports agent representing collegiate and professional tackle and flag football athletes in marketing, NIL, and contract initiatives. A former quarterback for the U.S. National Women's Flag Football Team, she helped the United States capture a gold medal at the 2023 IFAF Americas Continental Championship.

Marquez holds a master's degree in sports industry management from Georgetown University and graduated from Florida State University with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Alexandra Mansur | Graduate Assistant
Mansur joins the Mavericks after serving as the graduate assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Kansas Wesleyan University. In that role, she helped oversee practice planning, athlete development, and recruiting efforts while working closely with student-athletes and administrators. A standout player during her collegiate career, Mansur was a four-year member and team captain of the Kansas Wesleyan women's flag football team, earning KCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024 and multiple all-conference selections.

Mansur is currently pursuing her MBA after graduating magna cum laude with a degree in sports management.
