HOUSTON – UT Arlington men's golf is back in action for its second tournament of the season, staying in Texas for the Bayou City Collegiate. The tournament is being hosted by Rice from Sept. 21-22 at the Westwood Golf Club in Houston.

UTA is coming off of its first tournament of the season — the Sandestin Collegiate Classic — where the Mavericks finished tied for 10th with a 16-over-par 856. Jen Chie Huang led the way for UTA, finishing second individually with a 9-under 201 for the event.

The Mavericks made one change from their outing at the Sandestin. Ajay Morris will take Ed Procter's spot in the lineup for his season debut.

INSIDE THE LINEUP
Jen Chie Huang

• Huang is coming off of his best career performance, finishing in second place at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic, the best finish of his collegiate career.
• The junior opened the tournament with a 6-under-par 64 in round one and posted a 9-under 201 overall. Both scores were the best of his collegiate career. 
• Huang carded a birdie on 13 holes and a bogey or worse on just five. The Taiwan native also made eagle on the par-5 eleventh hole in the first round. He was one of just eight players to record an eagle at the event.

Michael Chevalier

• Chevalier finished second among Mavericks at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic, placing in a tie for 39th overall. 
• The Grapevine native shot a 2-over 72 in each round, good for a 6-over 216 overall.
• Made birdie on seven holes overall, including three in the final round.

Joey Hayden

• Hayden tied for 50th with a 9-over 219.
• The graduate student carded eight birdies, including three in both rounds one and two.
• Shot rounds of 72-73-74.

Austin Dennis

• Finishing one stroke back of Hayden, Dennis shot a 10-over 220 in his collegiate debut, placing in a tie for 56th overall.
• The Ventura, California native carded two birdies in each round.
• Dennis shot a 1-under 34 on the back nine of the second round.

Ajay Morris

• Morris makes his season debut after finishing tied for seventh place in last season's Bayou City Collegiate Classic.
• Tied his career-low tournament score with a 5-under 211 at the 2025 Bayou City, finishing below par in all three rounds of the event.
• The sophomore competed in 11 tournaments his freshman year, finishing second on the team in scoring average (73.1), rounds in the 60's (Three) and rounds at par or better (12).
