Biography
Chris Erickson enters his first season as a student assistant coach for the Mavericks after completing his two-year playing career for the Mavericks.
Erickson[apos]s best tournament finish came during his junior season when he shot a 74-72-70=216 to finish in a tie for 13th place at the season opening Mean Green Invitational. He followed that up with a career-best 69, sandwiched between a pair of 74s for a 217 at the Pacific Invitational. Erickson played in four tournaments during the fall and owned a 73.92 stroke average.
Prior to playing at UTA, Erickson spent two years at San Jacinto Junior College. During his sophomore season, Erickson shot a 71-69-71=211 to help his team capture the conference championship.
Erickson played his prep golf at Kingwood High School where he was named the team[apos]s MVP his senior season. He tied for third place at the 2000 Class 5A State Tournament.
Erickson, a native of Kingwood, is pursuing a bachelor[apos]s degree in marketing.
