Prior to UTA: Taylor transfers to UTA after a one-year stint at Tulane University in New Orleans, La., where he started in five games...logged a .250 average with one home run and six RBI in 21 games for the Green Wave...prior to Tulane, he played two years at Seward County (Kan.) Community College, earning All-Jayhawk Conference honors both seasons after hitting .340 with nine homers and 44 RBI as a freshman and posting a .340 average with seven homers, 50 RBI and 13 stolen bases as a sophomore...earned Academic All-America honors and was a member of the Dean?s List at Seward CC...also a National Natural Science Award winner...graduated summa cum laude...was a two-year starter at Arvada West High School (Arvada,Colo.), where he earned All-Conference honors both seasons...earned first team All-State honors as a senior...posted better than a .400 average for his career, including a .440 mark as a senior when he clobbered eight home runs in 22 games...selected to play in the Senior All-State Game at Coors Field...also a member of the golf team, earning three letters on the links...a three-time Academic and All-State selection and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class with honors.
