Brion Raven began his first season as an assistant coach for the UT Arlington women[apos]s basketball program in 2011-12.

Raven came to UT Arlington after spending four seasons with the SMU Mustangs as the director of operations for men[apos]s basketball. Raven was part of a program that finished with its first 20-win season since 1999-2000. After falling in the first round of the CUSA Tournament, the Mustangs accepted a spot in the 2011 CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT) where they won three games and advanced to the semifinals.

Prior to working at SMU, Raven spent two seasons as the program coordinator with the Georgia men[apos]s basketball team. He has also worked for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Charlotte Bobcats. As Georgia[apos]s program coordinator for the men[apos]s basketball team, he managed the day-to-day operations of the basketball office, served as the team[apos]s traveling administrative assistant, helped monitor the academic progress of several players and worked as a liaison between the program and support groups such as the [quote]G[quote] Club and Tip-Off Club.

A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, Raven is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned his bachelor[apos]s degree in sports management. He worked two years in the Aggies[apos] marketing and promotions office as a student. In his last year in College Station, he played on an intramural basketball team which won the American Collegiate Intramural Sports national championship.
