DENTON, Texas - Oklahoma State University improved its record to 7-3 after handing the Lady Mavericks of Texas-Arlington a 3-0 loss Saturday at the North Texas/Beltin Round-Up at Denia Park in Denton. UTA falls to 3-7-1 on the year.

The Cowgirls struck early, plating two unearned runs in the top of the fourth inning. OSU added its final run in the fifth on a solo home run from Anderson.

The Lady Mavericks couldn't manage to push a run across, leaving eight runners on base. Beverly Rowan and Jill Garro paced the Lady Mavs offense with two hits apiece, while Amanda Haney was the only other Lady Maverick to collect a hit.

Garro (3-3) tossed the complete 7.0 innings, striking out five and allowing only one earned run.

UTA returns to action this afternoon against Southwest Missouri State.
