ARLINGTON, Texas - The wheels came off for Texas-Arlington in the sixth inning as Texas State pushed across nine runs to break a 1-1 tie and cruise to a 13-1 seven-inning victory Sunday afternoon at Clay Gould Ballpark. The Mavs won the series two-games-to-one after taking Friday and Saturday's contests.

Two more singles reloaded the bases before the `Cats went on a Sunday stroll. Fourteen of the next 16 pitches went for balls and four TXST hitters drew RBI walks to push it to a nine-run inning.
TXST pushed the game to run-rule status in the seventh inning as Keel led off the inning with a home run to right center field. Ramos would drive in another run with single through the right side and a groundout by Jones.
Gardner (3-3) took the loss as he allowed five runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings of work. Three Mavs relievers combined to throw 1.1 innings and allow eight runs on eight hits with five walks. Bobby Sawicki (3-2) earned the victory by allowing one run on three hits in the seven-inning complete game.
