THREE-RUN HOMER SPOILS PERFECT RECORD

March 18, 2006

Box Score

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Northwestern State's Margaret Patterson lined a three-run home run over the right-center field wall in the bottom of the seventh to boost the Lady Demons (13-17, 3-4) to a victory over UT-Arlington (14-9, 6-1) in Southland Conference softball action Saturday.

Rain and lightning cancelled the second game of the doubleheader to tommorrow. Sunday's doubleheader begins at 10 a.m.

UTA senior Jill Garro (8-5) took the loss after allowing just her second home run of the season. Garro had allowed one homer in 87-1/3 innings of work this season prior to the seventh inning shot.

Kristen Lindley (4-5) picked up the win after coming on in relief of Amanda Glenn in the seventh inning, allowing just one hit. Lindley also doubled in the game. Glenn started the game throwing six innings and allowing six hits and two earned runs.

Trailing 4-2 going into the bottom of the seventh, Jaimee Stinson led off the inning with a base on balls. Sarina Noack then singled through the left side, advancing Stinson to second. Noack finished the day two for four with two stolen bases. After falling behind in the count, Patterson crushed an 0-2 pitch, winning the game for the Lady Demons.
