NACOGDOCHES, Texas - UT Arlington (12-15, 2-3) defeated the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (8-21, 1-6) Friday in Nacogdoches with a 2-0 victory.
Teri Lyles pitched all seven innings against SFA allowing six hits and two walks, but no runs. The sophomore also played an impressive offensive game Friday.
"It was a good win for us today," UT Arlington head coach Debbie Hedrick said. "Teri threw a good solid game on the mound and she helped herself offensively with a double and RBI as well."
Senior Erica LeFlore went two-for-three against Ladyjack pitcher Angela White. Courtney Zink also picked up two hits after her four at bats. Freshman Megan Michelle went one-for-three with one run.
"We still need to do a better job of scoring runners at second and third, but it's a good win," Hedrick said about UTA's second conference win of the season.
The Mavericks resume play at 1 p.m. Saturday in Nacogdoches against the Ladyjacks as they hope to improve to 3-3 in league play.
